Mark Coomer produced his first oil painting at age nine when he lived in Bay City, Michigan. He studied art at the American Academy of Art in Chicago and his paintings have appeared in full color in the “The Chicago Tribune” and “Holiday Magazine”. Private buyers and corporate collections as well as museums and industrial businesses have collected his work throughout the world.

Mark has traveled widely from Spain to Yugoslavia, England to Morocco, the Greek and Caribbean Islands and Mexico to find and capture his “moments of beauty” on canvas. He produces his artwork in the vibrant colors of the encaustic medium.
