Marjorie’s batiks are found in public and private collections around the globe having reached a wide audience with her creations.
Marjorie graduated from East Carolina University, Greenville , N.C. with a BFA in printmaking, and a minor in Painting. Her travels took her around the globe, utimately living and studying batik making in Jogyakarta, Indonesia and Singapore for seven years. Working as an art teacher at the Singapore American School she ran Yangtze Gallery creating designer garments and wall hangings for the Merlion Batik factory.
Moving on to Hawaii she started her own business, Yangtze Design. Glorious Hawaiian colored batiks were created depicting her environment. Her previous home was in Washington State where iris flowers became a popular theme for her creativity.
