Jan feels like she was born with a needle in one hand. This mani- fested itself at a very early age with textiles and continued in one textile medium or another until the later part of the 1990's, when she discovered that the needle could also be used to create beauty with beads.

She considers her work architecture – building some thing with texture and color, be it something wearable or an artistic object. Jan also incorporates glass and stone in her work, often using artist created glass beads or interesting cabochons.

As a member of NanC Mein- hardt's thirteenth Master Class and now Vista Point Artists, Jan's work has been shown at the San Luis Obispo Art Center, Houston Center for Contemporary Craft and Studio Channel Island Art Center in Camarillo, CA. When not working with beads, Jan enjoys hiking, horseback riding and traveling. She recently met her goal of hiking on all seven continents. She divides her time between homes in Prescott, Arizona and Bigfork, Montana.
